Zero Degrees Chorus
 Sage Gateshead 2017
We are a newly founded chorus (August 2014) based in Louth and currently have 35 members.
Zero Degrees Chorus is a non for profit organisation committed to advancing the musical art form of four part harmony through education and performances.

We were very honored  to have been members of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide organisation of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of four part harmony through education and performances. This independent, non profit music education association is one of the world's largest singing organisations for women.
In 2018 we are proud to start a new adventure with LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers).
LABBS is one of three barbershop-singing organisations in the United Kingdom, and the only purely-British organisation for female barbershop singers
Note from our
Musical Director
Chris Mackintosh-Smith.

I want to invite all the ladies out there to join our Zero Degrees Chorus.

If you are over 14 years of age, or you know someone who shares a passion for singing and performing: daughters, nieces, sisters who would like to give it a try. Then just get in touch or come along to one of our rehearsal nights,

we’d love to see you.

You don’t have to read music.. we provide learning tracks and vocal coaching. Choreography is also an important part of our performance and you don't have to be a dancer either!

Zero Degrees Chorus will offer a whole package of fun, learning the
skills of four part harmony and choreography.

If you watched ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ winners, Dale Diva you will know the sort of exciting sound we’re aiming for.

The four part harmonies create a special blend.
We also need ladies who wouldn’t necessarily fit into a conventional choir....
Bass singers should have a rich, mellow voice and should not be
confused with the alto of conventional groups.
I have personally sang in both a gold medal barbershop chorus of 100 men and equally enjoyed singing with my quartet. Luckily my wife Jane and daughter Becky share in my hobby both having won several gold medals.

I can say it’s something really special to belong to such an amazing group.

Together, we hope to build a top chorus. We know that Louth is full of talent so, Come and Join Us.
