History

Zero Degrees Chorus was founded in 2014 by three medal-winning barbershoppers: Jane and Chris Mackintosh-Smith, and their daughter Becky Peek. Jane and Becky were multi-gold medal winners with Lace City Chorus Nottingham, and Chris was a gold medal-winning member of Great Western Chorus of Bristol, as well as being musical director of various choruses over the years, including Classic Chord Company, Humber Belles, and Lincoln Sounds. There was a lack of barbershop in East Lincolnshire, so singers from Louth and the surrounding area were invited to attend an inaugural rehearsal at Louth Town Hall, which attracted 70 prospective members. The chorus initially joined Sweet Adelines Region 31 and competed in 2016, switching to LABBS in 2018. 

The chorus soon found its name - Louth is officially at zero degrees on the Greenwich Meridian Line! It didn't take long for Zero Degrees Chorus to start recruiting members and we quickly became well-known in the East Lindsey District as we still are today.
